The Southwest

Here is another watercolor which was created for the Mobil Travel Guides. The guides were published in regional editions; Bob was tasked with creating covers which depicted typical scenes from each section of the US. He took this commission quite seriously and researched the regions through photos and material from the states' chambers of commerce.

Sivard enjoyed creating these skillfully rendered 'collages'. Interestingly, these 1989 works bear some stylistic resemblace to his Merry Christmas from 1941.
